Essential Thursdays- Managing Sleep Deprivation

So those of you who know me in person might know that I've recently gotten involved with doTerra essential oils. I use these oils lots and I love to share these oils with others! Basically, essential oils are therapeutic oils that are essential in things like preventing colds and the flu, relieving allergies, managing stress, anxiety and insomnia. doTerra oils are Certified Pure Therapeutic grade, which means they are truly all-natural, with no pesticides or contaminants and are tested by a third party to ensure purity. They are the only kind of essential oil you can drink! Essential oils are 50-70 times more powerful than herbs; one drop of oil is equivalent to 28 cups of tea and it can service every cell in your body.

My goal is to post about doTerra oils once a week and share how they are helping me in certain situations! I hope you will find this informative and helpful :)

As the end of the semester nears, it's easy to get bogged down with stress. So much music to learn, papers to write, rehearsals to go to, concerts to play and attend. Sleep often gets pushed to the sidelines. When I don't get enough sleep, I often feel as though I'm in a fog. I can't form complete sentences to save my life, I go to my locker and forget why I went, practice sessions become much less productive, and I get grumpy and irritable. I'm sure many of you do too, and who wants to spend their days like that?

Of course, the best solution is to get more sleep, but when that isn't possible or hasn't happened for whatever reason, that's when doTerra oils come in.

Some tips for when you're tired:

1)When you wake up, rub a drop of peppermint oil in your hands, put your hands to your face and breathe in. It's a good way to wake your lungs up and make you alert! There's also no crash that comes with caffeine or lots of sugar.

2) Keep some lemon or wild orange to smell throughout the day. These will help you to focus and will put you in a better mood.

3) If you're having trouble falling asleep, rub a drop of lavender under your nose right before you go to bed. I've been doing this for the past few nights and have fallen into a deep sleep in minutes.

Ask me how you can get a hold of these awesome oils! I'd love for you to try these oils and tell me what you think.
